Schering-Plough资助泛欧洲过敏原监测项目

全球过敏原和哮喘欧洲卓越网络(GA2LEN,比利时布鲁塞尔)的合作成员已经设计了一种新型皮肤皮肤针刺试验盘，用以在全欧盟范围之内研究过敏原的流行情况。

这种针刺试验盘可以评估18种吸入过敏原的致敏情况，能够对欧洲的过敏性鼻炎和哮喘患者未检测出的吸入性过敏原的发生频率，提供标准数据。

GA2LEN协调员、Ghent大学耳鼻喉科的Paul van Cauwenberge教授说：“当前在欧洲，我们面临着吸入性过敏原流行情况持续增加的难题。特别是最近几年，发现花粉传播变得更加严重。

GA2LEN由遍布欧洲的25家大学诊所、欧洲变态反应学和临床免疫学研究院（EAACI）、欧洲过敏和气道疾病患者学会共同组成。该组织的目的是提高科研的质量和整体性，涉及疾病的方方面面，最终降低全欧洲的过敏疾病和哮喘的负担。这项最新研究得到了Schering-Plough公司的无限制资金资助。

Pan-European Surveillance of Allergens
 
The partners of the Global Allergy and Asthma European Network of Excellence (GA2LEN, Brussels, Belgium) have designed a new skin-prick test panel to study the prevalence of allergens throughout the European Union (EU).

The skin-prick panel assesses sensitization against 18 inhalant allergens, and will provide standardized data on the frequency of many under-detected inhalant allergens in European patients suffering from allergic rhinitis and asthma.

“We are currently facing an unbroken trend of increasing prevalence of inhalant allergies all over Europe,” said Prof. Paul van Cauwenberge, the coordinator of GA2LEN, from the University of Ghent, department of ear, nose, and throat (ENT). “Especially in the last years, it has been observed that the pollen flight has become more intense.”

GA2LEN consists of 25 university clinics spread throughout Europe as well as the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) and the European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients Associations (EFA). The objective of the organization is to enhance the quality and integration of research, address all aspects of the disease, and eventually to decrease the burden of allergy and asthma throughout Europe. The new study is supported by an unrestricted grant from Schering-Plough (Kenilworth, NJ, USA).
